As the season heats up, standout performances and tight games have kept fans on the edge of their seats. From extra-inning thrillers to dominant pitching performances, the past three days have delivered plenty of excitement. Here’s a breakdown of the biggest moments from April 14-16, 1995.

April 14, 1995

Mouton Powers Blue Jays Past Rockies
Lyle Mouton had a game to remember, going 3-for-3 with five RBIs, leading the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Pilots’ Slide Continues
The Seattle Pilots suffered another tough loss, getting shut out 7-0 by the Montreal Expos as their struggles mount.

Senators Walk It Off in 12 Innings
The Washington Senators needed extra innings but managed to edge the Los Angeles Dodgers in the bottom of the 12th.

Twins Win in Extras Over Spiders
Cleveland pushed the game to extra innings with a run in the ninth, but the Minnesota Twins responded in the 10th to claim the victory.

Complete Game Gems
Bob Sebra (Giants) and Kevin Appier (Pirates) each threw complete-game shutouts. Sebra allowed three hits, two walks, and struck out 10, while Appier gave up just two hits, three walks, and fanned seven.


April 15, 1995

Cardinals Bounce Back
St. Louis returned to the win column, defeating the Boston Red Sox 3-2. All three of the Cardinals’ runs came in the top of the first inning.

Cubs’ Late Surge Stuns Pirates
After tying the game in the eighth, the Cubs exploded for four runs in the ninth to secure a 9-5 win over Pittsburgh. Luis Gonzalez starred with two home runs, three RBIs, and a walk.

Giants Fall in Extra Innings
Despite a stellar pitching performance from Scott Sanders, the San Francisco Giants fell in 11 innings to the Detroit Tigers. The game was tied 1-1 until the Tigers broke through with three runs in the top of the 11th, with the Giants only answering with one in the bottom half.

Rockies Walk It Off
Colorado edged out Toronto in the bottom of the ninth, plating a run to win 4-3.


April 16, 1995

Texas Blows Out Yankees
Brian McRae led the way for the Rangers, going 2-for-2 with two home runs, four RBIs, and three runs scored in a dominant 11-0 victory over the Yankees.

Thome Powers Royals to Victory
Jim Thome had a monster game, blasting two home runs and driving in four RBIs as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Cincinnati Reds 12-6.

Shawn Green Shines, But Dodgers Fall
The Dodgers’ Shawn Green hit a home run and drove in five runs, but it wasn’t enough as the Senators defeated Los Angeles 7-5.

Mets Prevail in 13-Inning Battle
The New York Mets needed extra innings to put away the San Diego Padres, finally securing the win in the 13th after tying the game in the ninth.
