“The Whisper Wire” Launches: DBL Opens Up Anonymous Rumor Submissions

For weeks, executives across the Diamond Baseball League have spoken in hushed tones. Text messages are erased. Conversations are held behind closed doors or over static-filled payphones. The trade market is jammed up. The offseason feels quieter than a Sunday in January.

That ends today.

The DBL has opened a new anonymous submission line — dblrumors@gmail.com — where league officials, players, agents, interns, clubhouse attendants, and yes, even fans, can drop whispers, leads, and gossip into the inbox with total confidentiality. No names. No judgment. Just heat.

Is a star shortstop unhappy with his role? Are two division rivals on the verge of a blockbuster? Has a manager lost the locker room? We want it all — the juicy, the wild, the just-plausible-enough.

And that’s not all. Starting this week, I’m launching the Graham Wexler Mailbag — a recurring feature where I’ll answer your questions about trades, team-building, contract extensions, historical “what-ifs,” front office philosophies, and the unspoken rules that govern life inside the DBL. Think of it as your chance to step into the war room — or at least peek through the blinds.

Submissions can be anonymous or signed. Want to know what’s going on with Toronto front office? Curious why San Francisco is trading its players? Wondering if the Royals can really afford to keep everyone? Ask away.

Email your mailbag questions and rumors to dblrumors@gmail.com. Just write “MAILBAG” in the subject line if you want your question answered in print. And remember: if you don’t send your rumors in, your rival GM might.

Trust no one. Leak everything. Let’s make this offseason interesting.
