Top Tier: Giants Still Standing Tall

1) San Francisco Giants (143.4, o)
Four weeks at No. 1, and the Giants remain remarkably consistent. Their point total dipped slightly, but they’ve avoided major slumps and continue to set the standard. Solid run prevention and reliable offense have kept them comfortably at the top.

2) Montreal Expos (136.4, o)
Just behind San Francisco, the Expos continue to play high-level baseball. They haven’t made a big move since early April, but their steady performance keeps them within striking distance. If the Giants slip, Montreal is poised to take advantage.

3) Kansas City Royals (133.8, ++)
A strong jump for Kansas City this week, powered by improved offensive output and better bullpen stability. They’ve quietly built one of the most complete teams in the league and are now solidly in the championship conversation.

4) Colorado Rockies (128.5, ++)
The Rockies continue their upward climb, fueled by one of the most dangerous lineups in the DBL. Pitching still raises questions, but the offense has been enough to overpower most opponents so far.

5) St. Louis Cardinals (112.1, o)
The Cardinals hold steady, doing just enough to maintain their position. Not flashy, but efficient. They’re in striking range if the teams ahead of them falter.

Upper Mid-Tier: Trending Up and Down

6) Minnesota Twins (108.9, +) / 7) Cincinnati Reds (106.3, ++)
Both teams move up this week with balanced contributions. The Twins are beginning to reassert themselves after early inconsistency, while the Reds are quietly climbing with a well-rounded roster.

8) Washington Senators (94.7, –) / 9) Toronto Blue Jays (93.9, o) / 10) Pittsburgh Pirates (93.7, –)
The Senators and Pirates drop off after hot starts, but still remain top-10 teams. Toronto continues to hold ground, though they’ll need a stronger push to rise further.

11) Texas Rangers (93.0, ++)
A solid jump for Texas, climbing thanks to an improved offense and some timely pitching. They’re trending in the right direction.

Middle of the Pack: Crowded and Competitive

12) Chicago Cubs (90.1, ++) / 13) New York Yankees (90.1, +) / 14) New York Mets (89.6, –) / 15) San Diego Padres (88.2, –)
The Cubs are back on the rise, while the Yankees continue to build momentum. The Mets and Padres have slid in recent weeks after looking like early contenders. This middle group remains competitive and volatile.

16) Orlando Sun Rays (79.5, ++) / 17) Los Angeles Dodgers (78.1, ++) / 18) Boston Red Sox (75.4, –)
Orlando and Los Angeles are rising after slow starts, while the Red Sox continue their free fall from the early top tier.

19) Detroit Tigers (72.5, -)
Detroit continues to struggle, showing signs of regression after a stable opening to the season.

Bottom Tier: Searching for Answers

20) Seattle Pilots (57.3, ++) / 21) Cleveland Spiders (54.9, –) / 22) Oakland Athletics (54.3, –)
The Pilots are showing signs of life after weeks in the basement. Meanwhile, Cleveland and Oakland are heading in the wrong direction.

23) Baltimore Orioles (44.3, o) / 24) Chicago White Sox (41.6, -)
No movement for Baltimore, while the White Sox hit a new low. Chicago needs a major turnaround to climb out of the bottom spot.

Final Thoughts

The Giants and Expos remain elite, but Kansas City and Colorado are gaining ground quickly. The middle of the league remains highly fluid, with several teams rising and falling on a weekly basis. As we head deeper into May, expect the separation between contenders and pretenders to widen. For the teams at the bottom, the clock is already ticking.
